On September 30th, Mr. Yu Jianbo, which from theTeaching Research Office of the Academic Affairs Office at Shanghai Jiao TongUniversity, was invited to give an online report titled ‘AI Empowerment inEducation and Teaching, and the Application of Knowledge Graphs’ for thefaculty of Engineering Training Center (School of Innovation andEntrepreneurship). The report was chaired by Chen Hao, the Deputy Secretary ofthe Party General Branch and Director of the Engineering Training Center, withall faculty in attendance.

Mr. Yu Jianbo introduced the concept, construction andorientation of knowledge graphs, the core elements of Plan 101 for basicdisciplines, and the main functions of related resources and service platformsfirstly in comparison with the new standards of innovative education. Mr. Yu encouragedthe faculty and staff present to actively embrace technological changes andexplore new teaching methods.

He detailed the application scenarios and effects ofusing various existing AI tools in teaching practices by course examples, includingthe steps and skills for dialogue using large language models such as ChatGPTand Sora, and the development of workflow intelligent agents. He pointed outthat the knowledge graphs can help teachers on building a more systematiccurriculum system and provide clearer learning paths for students, and AI-empoweredcourses can significantly improve teaching efficiency and create a richerlearning experience for students.

This report broadened the horizons of the faculty and staff at theEngineering Training Center, providing valuable ideas for teaching innovation,from which everyone greatly benefited.
