Professor Shuangsou Li, director of Fundamental Industry Training Center of Tsinghua University was invited to give a speech for the new development of Engineering Training Center, in Oct 18th. The topic of the presentation is to create inheritance and innovation of engineering training teaching system for new era, from metal working to engineering training and to engineering innovation. Faculty of Engineering Training Center of SUES attended on site, and the presentation was chaired by Prof. Hao Chen, director of Engineering Training Center.

Starting from the functional orientation and value chain of engineering training center, Professor Li present the overall planning, implementation, and research of the engineering training practice in Tsinghua University, with clear and layered introduction. Combined with the development trend of ‘new era, new business form and new engineering’, all members from engineering training center should follow the direction, strive to build a team of engineers who love the Party and the country, are dedicated, have outstanding technological innovation ability, and are good at solving complex engineering problems.

Then, the working paradigm of intelligent manufacturing and the new requirements of intelligent manufacturing on talent ability are analyzed and expounded by professor Li. Based on the practice in Tsinghua University, Professor Li introduced the status of optimization and upgrading of engineering training teaching system from four aspects, which are concept transformation, organization transformation, business transformation, technology transformation.

Finally, Professor Li summarized his yearly experience in engineering training teaching and practices in three points. Discussion was conducted between faculty members and Professor Li in education, researches, and student innovation practices. Precious and valuable experience was provided through the presentation and discussion.

Intensive learning will be further strengthened in Engineering Training Center, for better development plan for the center. All the work will focus on the development of SUES. We will plan and implement the new development of the center, adhere to the integrity of innovation, with courage and perseverance, to build an engineering training and teaching system, which is adapt to the new era. We will roll up our sleeves and work harder, and contribute more to the high-quality development of SUES.
