From October 20 to 22, the 13th Shanghai University Students Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition and the 2023 China University Students Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition, sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, co-organized by Shanghai Higher Education Association Engineering Practice Teaching Professional Committee and undertaken by Shanghai University of Engineering Science, was held in Songjiang Campus of our school. Themed by "Cross-integration Engineering Innovation for Excellence, Keep virtue and honor labor Manufacturing Power and Brave to Take Responsibility", the competition set six items in three tracks, including new energy vehicles, intelligent + and virtual simulation. 601 contestants from 20 universities and 156 teams in the city gathered to participate in the competition.
Xia Chunming, vice president of Shanghai University of Engineering Science, vice director of the Engineering Training Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Professor Li Shuangshou of Tsinghua University, Zhao Lixia, deputy director of the Higher Education Department of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, Professor Zhu Min of Nanchang Hangkong University, director of the Engineering Practice Teaching Committee of Shanghai Higher Education Association, Professor Hu Qingxi of Shanghai University and other leaders and guests attended the opening ceremony of the competition. Professor Zhang Xiaohui, deputy president of Xi'an University of Technology, Professor Yu Zhaoqin of Guangdong University of Technology and other specially invited guests visited the competition as guides.
Xia Chunming, vice president of Shanghai University of Engineering Science, said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the competition that this competition is a beneficial exploration and attempt of Shanghai universities to move towards a new situation of integrated development of education, science and technology and talents. Shanghai University of Engineering Science has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' innovative and practical ability, adhered to the engineering training and innovative spirit cultivation covering and running through the whole process of professional talent training, and vigorously supported students to participate in various engineering training, innovative practice and discipline competition. In the future, our university will take the opportunity of undertaking this competition to actively promote the virtuous cycle, effective connection and deep integration of education, science and technology and talents, so as to provide high-quality engineering applied talents support for China's modernization.
After three days of fierce competition, the competition successfully completed the preliminary round, community innovation and final competition of solar electric vehicle, temperature difference electric vehicle, intelligent logistics handling, intelligent classification of household garbage, digital engineering scene, enterprise operation simulation and other items. Many excellent works and eye-catching designs emerged in the competition. The teachers and students of industrial training once again learned from each other and crossed the innovative thinking.
The Chinese College Students' Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition is listed in the "Ministry of Education Review and Evaluation and Competition List" of the national college students' scientific and technological innovation competition project, which belongs to the A-class discipline competition of the Ministry of Education. The competition is an important platform for the "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" education reform of the Ministry of Education, and a landmark competition for innovation and entrepreneurship education among college students. The goal of the competition is to promote education, learning, reform and construction by means of the competition, to serve the national innovation-driven and manufacturing power strategy, and to cultivate engineers who can adapt to the needs of global sustainable development.
