On November 9, 2023, at 1:30 PM, the Electrical Engineering Training Department, under the guidance of Teacher Chen Guoming, convened a meeting to study the self-evaluation report of the undergraduate education and teaching review and assessment at Shanghai University of Engineering Science. The faculty members of the Electrical Engineering Department diligently studied the report, which included an overview of our university, the progress of the self-evaluation process, and the outcomes of the evaluation. The focus was on understanding the identified issues, analyzing their causes, and the measures taken for rectification, with particular attention to the optimization of the practical teaching system. This includes strengthening the cultivation of practical skills, pushing forward student-centered reforms in classroom teaching, improving the educational evaluation system, and advancing classroom teaching reforms to facilitate a shift in teaching methods. The goal is to achieve a continuous improvement in classroom teaching, guided by the principle of "two sexes, one degree." The university has established policies for the management of online open courses and blended learning, utilizing online resources to enhance teacher-student and student-student interactions, and employing digital tools to innovate teaching methods. Reforms in teaching and assessment methods have been introduced to increase the proportion of autonomous learning for students, focusing on the student development process, and to foster enthusiasm and initiative in learning, thereby enabling the shift from a "teaching-centered" to a "learning-centered" approach.
